Corrections & Clarifications

Errors of fact are corrected as soon as they are identified. The original article is updated in place with a correction notice at the top, and the correction is logged here with the date it was issued.

Clarifications are issued when an article is technically accurate but could be misinterpreted due to ambiguity or missing context.

Stake & Paper distinguishes between three categories of post-publication changes:

• Corrections address factual errors — incorrect figures, misattributed quotes, wrong dates, or inaccurate descriptions of events. The original article is updated and a correction notice appears at the top of the piece explaining what changed and when.
• Clarifications are issued when an article is factually accurate but could mislead readers because of missing context, ambiguous language, or an incomplete presentation of the facts. Clarifications add information rather than change it.
• Updates reflect new developments that have occurred after publication — for example, a company issuing a revised earnings figure or a regulatory agency releasing a final ruling. Updates are appended to the original article with a timestamp.

Our editorial team cross-references statistics against primary sources — SEC filings, USGS reports, EIA data, and company press releases — before publication. When an error is found after publication, the correction is made within 24 hours and documented here.
