Stake & Paper is a digital news publication covering energy, mining, critical minerals, and related markets. It is published and operated by ChoraQuest, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company located at 8405 Valemont Dr., Atlanta, GA 30350. Throughout this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to ChoraQuest, LLC.
Information We Collect
We collect a limited set of data in the course of operating this site:
- Web analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Vercel Analytics to understand how readers use the site. These services collect anonymized usage data such as page views, session duration, referral sources, and approximate geographic location.
- Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. Newsletter delivery is handled through Microsoft 365.
- Comments via Giscus. Our comment system is powered by Giscus, which requires GitHub authentication. Comments are stored as GitHub Discussions on our public repository. We do not separately store your GitHub profile data.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not process payments on this site and do not collect payment information, credit card numbers, or billing addresses. We do not collect biometric data. We do not use tracking pixels beyond the analytics services described above.
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by the following services:
- Google Analytics (GA4) sets cookies to distinguish users and throttle request rates.
- Vercel Analytics may set a cookie for session measurement.
- Giscus relies on GitHub session cookies when you are logged in to post comments.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not participate in advertising networks.

We share data with the following third parties solely to operate this publication:
- Vercel — hosting and web analytics.

Data Retention
Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of each provider (Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics). Comments posted through Giscus are stored on GitHub indefinitely as GitHub Discussions.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@choraquest.com. If you have posted comments through Giscus, you can delete them directly on GitHub.
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. You also have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
European Visitors (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the lawful basis for processing your data is legitimate interest for analytics and consent for newsletter subscriptions. AI Disclosure
Articles published on Stake & Paper may be drafted or assisted by artificial intelligence models and are editorially reviewed before publication. The use of AI in our editorial process does not affect the data collection practices described in this policy.
Children
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@choraquest.com and we will delete it promptly.
